Who am I?

Ever asked yourself this question? What on earth are you here for?

In Rick Warren's book 'The purpose driven life", he stated that:
- we are all not here by accident. We were in God's care before we were born and life is made to last forever.

- we were made to glorify God
- we were created to be more and more like Christ
- we were shaped for serving God.

Anyone can serve God as long as he/she is willing to avail himself/herself to God. God is looking for availability not ability.

In order to fulfill God's purpose, Moses remove obstructions that prevented him from following God. He gave up his position as the prince of Eqypt, he gave up position, pleasure and popularity.

It does not mean that having a position in society is not good. It is good to have success, but not for our own satisfaction and not when it compromises our status as the child of God. Our success should contribute to building the kingdom of God. =)

When is the right time to serve God?
- When we finish our studies?
- After we have a stable job?
- After we start a family?
- After our children has grown up?
- or do we wait till we become too old and have no strength to serve God?

Why is knowing God's mind and design important?

*The way God designed the human anatomy affects relationships with the opposite sex.

*God has designed each person with the need for intimacy, and strong temptations will arise to abuse and misuse this God-given desire for intimacy.

*It allows us to develop self-control and patience as we wait for the person whom He has chosen.

*When the area of relationships is left to man’s opinion and the world’s way, the fruit is rotten and the results are devastating.

Why are there problems with relationships?

*Parents and youth don’t consult God’s Word and have a lack of knowledge of God’s mind and principles on this very important topic.
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”—Hosea 4:6 (NKJV)

*Temptations abound due to strong sexual desires.
But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.
—James 1:14–15 (NKJV)

Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul . . .—1 Peter 2:11 (NKJV)

*The godly concept of a pure relationship has been perverted and twisted by the society we live in.
And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.”—Acts 2:40(NKJV)

*The meanings of terms such as dating, romance, and lovehave been confused by conflicting voices. The clear meanings of these words have been distorted. Confusion is not from the Lord.
For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

Why should a Christian’s thinking be different?

The Bible clearly tells Christians not to be imitators of the world. Through God’s wonderful Word, He gives believers a clear picture of what true relationships look like. All relationships should be pure, wholesome, and led by the Holy Spirit.

Dear all, i'm gonna post a few blogs about relationships as i believe that it is important for us to hold on to God's view on relationships and not get influence by the world. God's intention for love is not the way how society has distorted it into. Guard your heart brothers and sisters and rmb that we can shine for God!

God's View on Relationships

Should Christians handle relationships differently than the world? Yes! When we look to God’s Word, it’s clear; as followers of Christ, we can’t follow the world’s way or our own ideas. Colossians 2:8 (NKJV) says, Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

Where do you get your wisdom about relationships? Have you consulted God’s Word? If you’ve never looked to God’s Word on this topic, you’re setting yourself up for a fall. You’ve placed yourself in a dangerous position. The Lord desires for you to trust Him and to look to Him for His wisdom and direction. Proverbs 3:5–6 (NKJV) says, Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. The question is not How will you find a mate?, but rather Who will find your mate?

Over the years we’ve seen teens decide to try to find that “special someone” through the world’s way or following their own way. Instead of trusting and turning to God to choose, teens often take it into their own hands. It has led to destruction of family, friends, and youth groups. Proverbs 16:25says, There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.

1 Corinthians 6:9–11 (NKJV): Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdomof God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

1 Corinthians 6:12–20 (NKJV): All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
1 Thessalonians 4:1–8 (NKJV): Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit.

GREATNESS IS BEING A LEADER WITH A HEART OF A SERVANT

Is it wrong to seek for greatness? The answer is a definite No. There is nothing wrong with desiring greatness in life and ministry. However, greatness is never just in terms of a position we hold. It is about being the kind of servants that the Lord meant us to be. When James and John sought the Lord to be given special positions at the right and the left hand of His throne in His kingdom, the other ten disciples were very displeased with the two of them. They were angry that James and John had sought for these special positions. The Lord Jesus had to teach the disciples that it is not just about the position that they hold. He taught them that true greatness is about being a leader with a heart of a servant.

1. Rejecting secular ways of leadership

But Jesus called them to Himself and said, You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you Matthew 20:25

In the world, leaders use their great authority to rule over others. They lord over their workers by using threats or force. Such harsh means of leadership is to be rejected. When we relate to each other in the ministry, we should not rule over each other. We should reject worldly ways of exercising authority over others.

2. Practising servant leadership

But whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave. Matthew 20:26-27

The best way to lead each other is through servant leadership. The Lord Jesus taught His disciples that if they wanted to be great among themselves, then they should be a servant to each other. The word servant means one who waits on people. If they truly want to be first among themselves, then they should be a slave. The greater the position that we desire, the greater should be our humility in serving others.

3. Following the perfect example of the Lord Jesus

Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. Matthew 20:27

The greatest example of a servant is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. When He came down to earth, He did not come to be served. His focus in ministry was not self. He humbled Himself to be with us for the sole purpose of serving people. The Lord Jesus came to that He may sacrifice His life to redeem us from our sins. Lets follow the Lord as our ultimate role model in serving others. Lets focus on Him as we serve.

We are entering into March and time seems to pass very fast! In the busy-ness of our school work, exam prep, thesis writing or work life, let us not forget to live a life as ambassadors of Christ.

Ps Chia preached about Growing faith in your witnessing about Heb 11:7 where Noah was warned about things not yet seen, moved by godly fear and that he built an ark to save his own family. Let us be like Noah and not be complacent but be vigilant and alert to the spiritual things that happen around us. Let us see what are the exciting adventures that God has installed for us to witness to others!

Life is about what we value! What we believe determine our character.

We value and treasure what we believe.

Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Ps Steven preached a very simple message taken from Luke 21

¹As he looked up, Jesus saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury.

²He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins.

³"I tell you the truth," he said, "this poor widow has put in more than all the others.

⁴All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on."

Main Pointers

Through the widow’s two very small copper coins, let’s consider 3 principles to live, serve and lead

1) Value relationship with God

The Jewish widow was required to offer a copper con in their law, but this widow offered 2 copper coins because she valued her relationship with God and she loved God more than her own life and her limited wealth.

2) Value significance over importance and accomplishments

Living according to God’s Word, the significance is in giving & generosity in spirit. The widow sought to give out of her poverty. In poverty, she sought to give rather than to receive from others. True significance in life is not about receiving, inward-looking and self-serving.

3) Value strengths of weaknesses

Many look for beauty and not imperfection; for strength and not weakness; for plenty and not less. The widow glorified her weakness, as a result she found glorified strength in God. She went into the temple to help.

2 Corinthians 12:9 “But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.”

The appeal: we need to change the value if we want to see the hands of God in us.

Application

1) How do we value God in our daily life?

2) Do we find our significance in God or something else?

3) Don’t stop at our weakness. Surrender it to God an give Him the chance to do exploit.

In life we are responsible to God. In death we are accountable to God as the Lord of our life.

Is the fear of God missing in your life?
The fear of God will not paralyze us, but will strengthen us internally.

Hi friends, i'm really touched by the worship song today. "You are good" by kari jobe.
Sometimes I will think that I am unworthy of God's love because I've strayed from his word. And i'll feel so unworthy to teach the children God's word when i myself am not following his teachings. There's a feeling of cutting myself off from Him so that i will not keep disappointing God, but when i heard this song today, the lyrics just touched me. It shows that no matter how much we have disappointed God, He will never let go of us and He will wait faithfully till the day we return to his side.

" Your kindness leads me to repentance, your goodness draws me to your side
Your mercy calls me to be like you, your favour is my delight"

You can choose to let go of God, but He will never let go of you!

Bonny got her student pass!

Just yesterday during cell group, we prayed for Bonny's student pass to be approved. It seemed to take a long time and Bonny was worried about the application.

And just today, Jin Yu sent a msg from msn saying that Bonny got her student pass already! :)

Jin Yu also told me that Bonny said now she believes that God is powerful and that she is very thankful.

Thank God for answering our prayers so promptly. This is a great encouragement not only to Bonny, but also to all of us.

JERUSALEM (AFP) - - The remains of a 2,000-year-old synagogue where Jesus may have preached were found on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, archaeologists said on Friday.

The synagogue, one of the oldest ever found, was unearthed at Migdal, which Christians believe to be the birthplace of Mary Magdalene, a leading follower of Jesus.

"It is possible that Jesus had preached in this synagogue since Migdal was an important Jewish city at the time," excavations director Dina Abshalom-Gorni, who led the dig, told AFP.

Jesus did much of his preaching on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, also known as Lake Kinneret, where Christians believe he performed several miracles.

Archaeologists were particularly excited by the discovery of an imprint depicting the menorah -- a seven-branched candelabrum -- from the Jewish Second Temple destroyed in 70 AD during the Roman siege of Jerusalem.

Abshalom-Gorni said the imprint was one of only four such reproductions known to exist.

"The artist apparently went to Jerusalem to see with his own eyes this sacred candelabra," she said.

The synagogue built sometime between 50 BC and 100 AD is one of only seven known to date back to the Second Temple period.

Its 120-square-metre (143-square-yard) main hall has a mosaic floor and a square stone adorned with the menorah set atop a pedestal with a triangular base, which is flanked on either side by amphoras, the antiquities department said.

"3+9" Structure for S12

Q: OK! I see my name there! So what is "3+9"?

A: 3+9 is an adaptation of Christ's model of discipleship. We can't refute that Jesus came to earth to give His life a ransom for MANY to become the Saviour of ALL mankind. We won't find in Scriptures that He spent all His time with those He ministered to. Instead, we find Him frequently with His original band of 12 in tow. Yet only 3 of the 12 found their way into His inner circle, viz., Peter, James and John. From this we infer that Jesus, while having "management" of 12, only paid special attention to the 3; and hence, the 3+9 principle.

Q: What are the objectives of "3+9"?

A: 1. Everyone in S12 is correctly identified and placed in the niche where he can contribute effectively to the overall growth of the Cells;

2. Everyone in S12 is being cared for and cares for someone return so that none will be without some "pastoral" oversight or accountability;

3. Everyone in S12 does what is reasonably expected of him to be done so that no one will be burnt out in the process of being involved in the Cells.

Q: What are the biblical contexts for "3+9"?

A: Let's look at some instances of caregiving in NT.

1. Jesus with the Three

Jesus spent the most time with Peter, James and John. Each of them was honoured in their time, and each is still known for the work and contribution to Church History,

2. Paul and Timothy

3+9 owes its origin to the pattern seen in Paul and his three closest proteges, viz. Timothy, Luke and Mark. In 2 Tim 2:7.2, we see Paul relating to Timothy in a very intimate way. He calls Timothy "my son". He charges Timothy with these words in v.2, "And the things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also." This verse lays down the germinal concept of 3+9.

Q: So tell me why our cell has to adopt "3+9"?

A: 1. It's Biblical

As shown, Jesus had His 12 but He concentrated His energies on the 3. Paul also had his three — Timothy, Titus and Silas.

2. It's Practical

Jesus was successful in not only caring for but also developing the 3 to become heroes of the NT Church. Each of them was honoured in his time; but each is still known for the work and contribution to Church History. Jesus — Peter, James & John.

3. It's Essential

We must provide pastoral care, and to provide it at the most effective level. We feel that, among the many options available, 3+9 is our preferred way of providing pastoral care. We opt for it because we believe sincerely that it's crucial for being accountable for those entrusted by God to our care.

Q: What must I do if there are other members entrusted with me?

A: First and foremost, 3+9 is not a family tree where the person at the top level is better than the one below, or those that you are entrusted with. It is a system where we can help and support each other in our walk in Christ. Those four that are under the cell leader in this context are those that are undergoing Assistant Cell Leader course, so it will be a good platform for them to take ownership of the cell as they learn how to execute pastoral care.

In summary, remember to be ready at all times to communicate, contact, provide pastoral care and impart spiritual life to your “3”. Communicate and contact involves passing down of information, pastoral care involves accountability of the well being of your "3" and impart spiritual life include many aspects including prayer support for your "3" and as well as the person that is looking after you.

Directions for S12 cell

Remember during 12 June we had our first ever S12 cell meeting after the transition to Region 1. We came together to think about the directions that the cell should head towards by thinking about these two questions. Here are our responses.

1. What will my life be without church?

* less sense of achievement

* sad, weird, limited fellowship and life sharing

* boring, complacent, greater tendency to backslide.

* will have different goals and priorites in life, led away by worldly values

2. What are the needs that we hope that can be met.

* mutual bonding, fellowship, share sorrow and joy, encouragements, advice

* relationships that strengthens, mentor, people to guide, support, anchor

* example and models to follow, growth, maturity, sense of belonging

In all, Paul has helped sumed up our thoughts into three directions and they were, praise the Lord, in line with what God has laid on my heart too (in brackets).

3. Maturity as a Christian (upward: our relationship with God and to be more like Him)

Human beings who give themselves to relational greatness- who have friends they laugh with, learn with, fight with, dance with, live and love and grow old and die with-these are the human beings who lead magnificent lives. When they die, not one of them regrets having devoted themselves to people: his or her friends, his or her neighbours, his or her children, his or her family . Not one.

Hey cell, i'm really grateful for each and everyone of you. Just want to say that all of us are special in our own ways and there is always something that we can take away and learn from one another. Yesterday's cell group was a great time of reflection and a though-provoking one. At times i would feel that i' m not learning anything much from cell, but looking back at the times that we had, i felt that there was alot of change in me (not about the hair part though), changes like being more calm, taking things easy, rearrangement of my priorities, getting into a ministry, going for mission trip, exposure to play guitar for the cell group, mixing with bonie, jiayu and other overseas friends, opportunity to share word and many more. These are all the things that i have achieved in this cell. Indeed I've learnt so much and these things just fade away to the back of my mind till last night when i was reflecting through the years that we spent together. I'm really thankful for everyone of you. And thank God for his faithfulness, for standing by me and giving me so many opportunity to grow even though i left church in sec sch. I hope that we will continue to develop our friendship and be there for one another. As we move on from here, let's pray together for greater things to happen to our lives and stand by to witness miracles after miracles that will be performed by the hands of God!

How a real servant acts

Hi all, posting again after a long time.
Here's some para that i took from the book 'Purpose Driven Life' chap33.

'No special talent is required to stay after a meeting to pick up trash or stack chairs. Anyone can be a servant. All it requires is character. It is possible to serve in church for a lifetime without ever being a servant. You must have a servant's heart.

Real servants pay attention to needs.
Servants are always on the look out for ways to help others. When God puts someone in need right in front of you, he is giving you the opportunity to grow in servanthood. We miss many occasions of serving because we lack spontaneity and sensitivity. Great opportunities to serve nv last long. They pass quickly, sometimes nv to return again. You may only get one chance to serve the person, so take advantage of the moment. 'Nv tell ur neighbour to wait until tmr, if you can help them now.

Real servants do their best with what they have
Servants nv say "One of these days" or "When the time is right". They just do what needs to be done. "If you wait for perfect conditions, you will nv get anything done." God expects you to do what you can, with what you have, wherever you are . Less than perfect service is always better than the best intention.

Real servants do every task with equal dedication
Whatever they do, servants "do it with all their heart." The size of the task is irrelevant. The only issue is, does it need to be done?

Real servants maintain a low profile.
Servants don't promote or call attention to themselves. Real servants don't serve for the approval or applause of others. They live for an audience of One. As Paul said,"If i were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ." Unfortunately, many leaders today start off as servants but end up as celebrities. They become addicted to attention, unaware that always being in the spotlight blinds you.

You may be serving is obscurity in some small place, feeling unknown and unappreciated. Listen: God put you where you are for a purpose! He will let you know if he wants you somewhere else. Your ministry matters to the kingdom of God. In heaven, God is gg to openly reward some of his most obscure and unknown servants. The most significant service is always the service that is unseen.

Hello friends,
i just finished my second last paper yesterday. It was really a relief because i thought that i won't be able to do well for that paper. It was a pure memory based subject, and i didn't finish reading through my lecture notes, so even though i tried to finish as much as possible, i had to give up some chapters in the end, coz there's not enough time to complete. This was one of the worst time i ever had..nv gone to an exam feeling so unprepared before. And when i reached sch, i saw all my friends who seemed to be very confident abt the exam, and they actually managed to memorise the whole chunk of information. I was feeling really very worried when i entered the exam hall. BUT, Thank God, i only need to choose 5 out of 6 qns to do, and the qn that i didn't do was on those chapters that i left out.

I have another thing to share as an encouragement to all of you. I was supposed to teach in the 1st and 2nd service for bcm this sunday, and i was feeling quite stress, because this is the exam period, and i just want to concentrate on the exam, but the teaching part was always on my mind, and if i were to teach, i would have to spend alot of time doing research to make sure that the things i thought were correct and think of ways to make the lesson interesting for the kids. So this would take up alot of time..but when i went to church last sunday, the other teachers told me that there wasn't any bcm service both for the 1st and 2nd service, as there was a special speaker coming. I knew immediately that it must have been God who created this opportunity, for me to concentrate on my exam, because usually, even if there is any combined service, 2nd service bcm will still be on. I was really amazed. It makes me realise even more that God is always looking out for me...yep..that's all. Hope to see u guys soon!..

hello cellgrp! i'm alive! :) sot has been great so far. experiencing God and learning alot. too long to elaborate. exciting but super super tiring. it's like attending church camp plus those 3hrs cet lessons over and over again. i can tell you more though. the morning prayer meetings didn't killed me this week. as you all should know me, waking up at 5 a.m is craziness. BUT i have been praying for everyone of u everyday. i go one by one arh. if you dun want me to forget you, you can send me a nice morning msg before 7am. wahaha. i will be encouraged to pray harder for u! joking joking...send me your prayer requests. the latest bomb is to read finish the entire bible in 5months. that will be about 10chapters per day! who wanna join me? ;p

Perhaps we've been busy with work, studies or even activities. However, I urge you to take some time to get your eternal perspectives right and learn to CENTER DOWN instead of cutting down. What's the difference you may ask?

In the midst of our busyness, Give Thanks for all things work for the GOOD of those who love Him, who have been called according to His PURPOSE! (1 Thess 5:18; Romans 8:28).

The bible tells us in Psalm 90:12~"Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Perhaps, we have allowed time to swiftly fly past us, without even catching a glimpse of it. But it's never too late to start now, walking in obedience & faith one step at a time. L.I.F.E = Living It For Eternity ( journey WITH GOD). "Take up your cross daily." (Luke 9:23) So for this coming Easter, Let's Dream Big. Start Small. Build Deep.

Remembering what Ps Aaron preached last Sunday "Reaching Out With Jesus' Love":

People don't really care how much we know, until they know how much we care!
"The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise." ( Prov 11:30)

Soul winning is not just a task to be handled, it is an ART to be mastered. "To win" = "TO BUILD RELATIONSHIP". Soul-winning must be RELATIONAL.

Step #1: BLESS the lost: Speak Well, Encourage and Praise others.

Step#2: FELLOWSHIP with them: Taking initiate to Spend Time with them.

Step#3: Look out for a NEED that you can meet.

"Maslow's Hierarchy of Human Needs"

Step#4: PREACH the gospel to them: Accept people the way they are without approving their lifestyle.
Jesus' style: He started out by 1st winning them over as friends, then to the Lord.

Soul-winning and witnessing is "not hard-selling" the gospel. An effective and exciting life of evangelism is waiting for you if you choose to SERVE others rather than sell to them.

Let me remind you that it's not easy to be Jesus'deciples."Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me."(Matt 16:24)

To deny self: Take our wants & desires down from the throne, & place Jesus & His will as a governing power in our lives.
Cross signifies death & total sacrifice,not just a burden to be borne.
Lose life for Christ's sake: Giving it in servce & In total submission, to live lives of complete to will of God to gain eternal life.

John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me, & I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me, you can do nothing.

I was just doing my devotion. And I was enticed by this verse. Have you ever noticed how this verse ended? It ended with "apart from Me, you can do nothing" not "he". Amazingly,"you" refers to each one of us, which means it involves everyone, to firstly abide in Him, then serve others.

Campus Crusade's Vision statement: Building movements everywhere, so everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus Christ.

If you have time, click "Pay It Forward" and watch this trailer. It simply starts from 1 person, to pass on his/her acts of kindness to his/her 3 friends, then his/her 3 friends to another 3 friends and so on. Just like how Jesus, himself, discipled the 12s, and the 12s preached the gospel to the nations, even up till now, the gospel is still spreading on, let's not stop the Great Commission, but continue the great work of our Christ Jesus,yeah!

Let's not take our Salvation for granted. Salvation is not meant to be kept within us, but for the needies. Mark 2:17 "When Jesus heard that, he said to them, "Healthy people don't need a doctor; those who are sick do. I've come to call sinners, not people who think they have God's approval." "

hey APPLES of HIS EYES,
I wanna let you know that i'm really glad that i've attended cell group and i'm certainly blessed by each one of you(even for those who were not there) last night. Initially, i was quite reluctant to go as i haven't been feeling good for the whole week but i thank God that i've not chosen to give in to my flesh and that He has restored me (Jehovah Rophe) for tt's where i began to understand and meet the God of grace through last night's sharing.
well, I've gotten back my results on Tuesday.. and ya, as expected, i can tell you up front that i failed 2 modules..(of course,i do feel disappointed in myself, but I'm not very upset, as compared to, the time when I've failed a module before,in my poly yr1 sem1).. On the day i came to know about my results, i thank God for preparing my heart through your prayers last Sunday.. I did not blame God for He is righteous (Jehovah Tsidkenu) & everlasting God (Jehovah El Olam) who has shown me His goodness and mercy(Jehovah Gemulah), however I didn't cherish it. Believing that He is our shepherd (Jehovah Raah) who is also my peace (Jehovah Shalom) and will always be there (Jehovah Shammah) to see me through, there's a song that goes "I don't worry o'er the future,For I know what Jesus said,And today I'll walk beside Him,For He knows what is ahead. Many things about tomorrow, I don't seem to understand, But I know who holds my future,And I know who holds my hands." Do continue to pray for me as i'm afraid that i may not be able to proceed to yr 3 and that I'll have courage to tell my folks about my results..i'm not afraid of being lectured, but i just feel i'm such a letdown to them, regarding my academic wise..Now that i have to repeat the modules, i fear that i'll be a burden to my parents that they have to pay even more.. Lately, my folks have been working at odd hours, due to the economic downturn.. And moreover, my grandma has been feeling ill that she vomited on Thursday night..We brought her to see a GP that night..However the next morning, she was still unwell and weak to walk that she fell and hit her forehead against the toilet's basin.. My dad, who had just come home from night shift, drove her to the hospital for stitches... Right now, she complains of giddiness every now and then, her right eye is also bruised and swollen,due to the fall.. I still thank God that she's resting at home now.. Do continue to pray for speedy recovery for my grandma, and my folks' physical health, protection over our families and friends. Believing that He is Jehovah Rophe - the Lord our healer & Jehovah Jireh - the Lord,our provider for our finance! Through these trials, I learnt that He's a God who desires to sanctify (Jehovah Qadesh) me and mould my character, in order to testify and celebrate the Lord of our Banner (Jehovah Nissi)! Amen!

Psalm 23 (Today's New International Version)

1a The LORD is my shepherd, - (Jehovah Raah.) [ Ps 84:3 says "Even the sparrow has found a home,and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young", likewise, so does our God who yearns to watch over us, guide us through every journey of our lives, and value each and every one of us, more than the sparrows.]

1b I lack nothing. (Jehovah Jireh[Gen22:14]) {"The-Lord-Will-Provide" is a play on the verb translated "provided." The verb means basically "see". The English word "provide" is from the Latin (pro = before + videre = vision) meaning literally to "see beforehand." God sees our need before it arises and makes provision for it. Thus, Jehovah Jireh means..."The Lord will see to it and provide." As Jehovah Jireh God can and will provide exactly what we need when we need it, for His timing is perfect. Remember that God's infinite provision is always greater than our finite problem. Faith not shown to be real until it is tested.}

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,He leads me beside quiet waters, (Jehovah Shalom[Judges6:24]) { [Great peace. Note that for "peace" the Hebrew word is shalom: it signifies not only "peace," but also perfection, wholeness, prosperity, tranquility, healthfulness, safety, the completion and consummation, of every good thing; and so it is frequently taken by the Hebrews; hence in salutations, wishing one the other well, they say, shalom lekha, i.e, "peace be with thee"; as if one should say, "may all things be prosperous with thee." --Thomas Le Blanc. There're 2 kinds of Peace: 1. Experiential (Phil 4:7)—day by day experience of the believer, can be forfeited. 2. Judicial (Romans 5:1 )—The war with God is over.]

And we who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ may enter heaven with boldness in the full assurance of a perfect reconciliation and peace. But the measure or degree of our sanctification to Him and our continued trust in Him (manifest by our obedience) is the measure of our peace in Him (Read that sentence again for it is the key to the unbroken peace OF God). "The peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." says the apostle (Php 4:7 ), but he suggests in Php 4:6 that it depends on the measure of our trust, and in Php 4:9 on the measure of our obedience ("Practice [continuously] these things"). }

3a He refreshes my soul. (Jehovah Rophe[Exodus 15:26]) {"Life is a great laboratory, and each experience x-rays our hearts to reveal what we really are. The waters of Marah revealed that the Jews were worldly, thinking only of bodily satisfaction; they were walking by sight, expecting to be satisfied by the world; they were ungrateful, complaining to God when trials came their way." Wiersbe's expository outlines on the Old Testament "When life gives you lemons make lemonade God's way"
How did Moses react to the "bitter" water trial Ex15:25?
Then he cried out to the Jehovah, and Jehovah showed him a tree & he threw it into the waters & the waters became sweet. There He made for them a statute & regulation & there He tested them.
When we experience difficult circumstances & come to a place where disillusionment, despair, disappointment, or bitterness fill the "wells" of our life, we need to remember that God has the power to make the bitter into sweet. And remember that our bitter circumstances are there to test us & to teach us to trust the Almighty God to meet every need (Php 4:19), but not every "want".Cry out to Jehovah Rapha. John 8:31-32 says "If you hold to my teaching, you're my disciples. Then you'll know the truth and the truth will set you free."}

3bHe guides me along the right paths for his name's sake. (Jehovah Tsidkenu [Jer 23:6]) {Righteousness is not attained, but obtained through faith in Jesus Christ. (1 Cor. 1.30). We must have Christ for our righteousness, or we will perish forever. CHRIST ALONE CAN MAKE YOU RIGHTEOUS. God is pure, righteous, and holy. He is of purer eyes than to behold iniquity. The heavens are not clean in his sight. He charges his angels with folly. "God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." The only way the holy God can receive us is if we are made to be perfectly righteous in his sight. And only Christ can make us righteous. We have no righteousness of our own at all (Isa. 64:6). There is no possibility of our accomplishing this righteousness for ourselves. "By the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight" (Rom. 3:20). If righteousness must be produced by us, we are full of despair. Hell must be our eternal portion. We sin everyday, every moment! All that we do is marred by sin. The law of God is too high, too holy, too pure, too perfect. We cannot attain its requirements. We cannot keep its precepts. Though we have passed from death to life, old Adam still struggles for dominion within us. By force of our lusts, we are still held in the captivity of sin in our members. The good we would do, we do not. The evil we hate, that we often perform. If anything is plain in the Word of God and the experience of God’s saints, it is this: There is nothing good or righteous in any man of himself (Rom. 7:14-24). FEAR GOD WITH REVERENCE.}

4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Jehovah Shammah[Ezek 48:35;Heb13:8]) {'The Lord is there!' God’s presence is real and felt, tangible. God is not no-where. God is now-here. Do you ever feel all alone? Are you going through something that you feel you must take care of on your own or you are afraid or embarrassed to ask someone for help? Have you reached out to friends or family only to have them turn their backs? Is the theme song to your life “My Way?” Is fear causing you to shut out the world? Know this, You are NEVER alone! Our God who is Omnipresent is with us always. He is there waiting, patiently for us to reach out to Him. Hebrews 13:5-6 tells us that He will never leave us nor forsake us. God wants us to call on Him, to rely on Him, to seek Him in all things and to have a deep, personal and intimate relationship with Him. He is our Father, we are His children; His love for us is unconditional. There is a famous poem "Footprints in the sand" that depicts God as Jehovah Shammah in a most beautiful way. Whenever I feel alone or inconsolable I think of this poem and it reminds me that God, Jehovah Shammah is right next to me and I can rest my head on His lap and cry out to Him. I imagine Him stroking my hair, cradling me in His arms and wiping away my tears. }

5 a You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. (Jehovah Nissi [Exod17:15]) {Banners express loyalty and surrender to that loyalty. (Psalm 20.5; Psalm 60.4; Exodus 17.15, 16) God sets the standard. His banner over us is love (Song of Solomon 2.4). In Exodus 17:8-16 talks about how Joshua, in preparation before going for a war, chose men to go out and fight against Amalek. Numbers 26:19 ("banner = "warning sign of preparations"), What is God training you for right now? Do the trials seem to never end, to be without an obvious purpose? Could it be that God is training you in and through the trial? (James 1:2-4,12) God does not waste the obstacles in our lives but desires that we might see them as opportunities to grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Someone has well said that just like Moses on the hill was a picture of intercession,it takes intercession on the mountain as well as intervention in the valley for God’s people to win the victory. The army of the Lord is most often victorious when it marches forward "on its knees". The Christian missionary martyr Jim Elliot added,"That saint who advance on his knees never retreats". }

5 b You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. (Jehovah Qadesh [Lev20:8]) {THE LORD Who Sanctifies ,is He who makes holy,sets apart separates from the profane. How are believers sanctified according to Jn 17:17, 18, 19?By the word = Truth (the word does not contain but IS truth) “This book will keep you from sin or sin will keep you from this book.” Truth >Renews Mind > Changed life. SANCTIFIED By Truth (John 15:3; 17:17);SANCTIFIED By the Blood (Hebrews 13:12);SANCTIFIED By Faith (Acts 26:18);SANCTIFIED By Prayer (I Timothy 4:5)}

6a Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, (Jehovah Gemulah [Jer51:56]) {He is the God of Recompenses(God requites - rewards and purnishes). When a person is shamefully treated or misjudged, even wrongfully condemned or blamed when innocent, it becomes very difficult not to take up our own defense, and leave our reputation to God. Yet this is the precise way that He has instructed for us to respond.The scriptures declare that retribution or recompense does not belong to us but rather it belongs to God.}

6b and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. (Jehovah El-Olam[Gen 21:33]) {The Everlasting God, The God of Eternity, The God of the Universe, The God of Ancient Days}

Hi cell,
I had gastric flu last night, was in the hospital at 2.30a.m. Just kept vomitting and had diarrhoea. I was put on iv drip and was discharged at 7a.m. The doctor said i got the virus from some food that i ate. Please continue to pray for me. Really grateful for my younger bro and dad who sent me to the hospital and stayed with me. Sometimes we may seem to take our health for granted and i really thank God that i was able to pull thru, coz the pain was really unbearable. Thank God for each day that we live!

Protect the unity of the church

It's been a while since i posted, pls help to keep the post going, coz it's tiring to maintain it alone.
Anyway, hope that ur spiritual life is not drying up, always stay faithful in God. =)

'It is our job to protect the unity of the church.
In his final moment before being arrested, Jesus prayed passionately for our unity.
It was our unity that was uppermost in his mind during those agonizing hours.
You are commissioned by Jesus Christ to do everything possible to preserve the unity, protect the fellowship and promote the harmony in your church family and among all believers.

We must remember that it was God who chose to give us different personalities, background,
races and preferences, so we should value and enjoy these differences, not merely tolerate them. God wants unity, not uniformity.

Conflict is usually a sign that the focus has shifted to less important issue. But if we concentrate on loving each other and fulfilling God's purposes, harmony results.

Passionately love the church in spite of its imperfections. If a church must be perfect to satisfy you, that same perfection will exclude you from membership, because you are not perfect!

Always choose to encourage rather than criticise. Whenever i judge another believer, 4 things instantly happen; I lose fellowship with God, i expose my own pride and insecurity, I set myself up to be judged by God, and I harm the fellowship of the church.

Refuse to listen to gossip. Listening to gossip is like accepting stolen property, and it makes you just as gulity of the crime.

Support your pastors and leaders. There are no perfect leaders, but God gives leaders the responsibility and the authority to maintain the unity of the church. Pastors often have the unpleasant task of serving as mediator between hurt, conflicting, or immature members. They're also given the impossible task of trying to make everyone happy, which even Jesus could not do!
Honour those leaders who work so hard for you.

'This is a fan-made video, and not affiliated with the singers or producers in any way. I didn't make this video to make anyone cry but to celebrate the life of my daughter, Christian Brooke Webb. She was born March 31, 1993 and returned to God May 9, 2008. She is the most precious daughter, sister, friend, girlfriend, child and woman we all could have asked for. She taught me so much about love and forgiveness... and how to smile when you feel like crying... that's my baby. She always told everyone she loved them and her last message to many was to get their life right with God. When I asked her if she could imagine what it would be like when Jesus comes for us, she said she had so much she wanted to do. She wanted to get married, have children and take care of me when I get too old to take care of myself... but then a few minutes later she said if Jesus came for her before she did all those things, she would go with him. She always belonged to God... and although he took her from this world, he will restore us in his perfect timing. This video is a gift to my Mom and to my daughter... two very strong women. When Christian was little, we called her "Brenda, Jr" because she acted so much like her "Gran-nenna". My Mom has been so through so much with me. Christian had a strong faith in God. Sometimes I would sit back in awe as I watched God work through her. Her friends tell me that what they remember most about her was her smile and her ability to make you smile when you felt like crying. I think maybe that's maybe because she knew how important it is to smile. She battled depression but she was fast on her way to victory. The morning of the accident, she could not stop smiling. She told me that she felt as if her life was going to change for the better. She was so right. She is in the presence of Jesus now. I thank God for allowing me to be Christian's Mom. I thank him for giving me 14 precious years with his beautiful child. And even more, I thank him for knowing that the best is yet to come. I thank him for calling Christian and preparing her throughout her life so that her eternity is now being spent with him. Life is but a vapor. We don't know when God will call us home. Live each day so that if today is your time, you will be ready. Love and treat each person so well that if it were your last moment with them, you will not leave any unanswered questions. Be the one that reminds people how to smile when they feel like crying. Make an impact today that will lead someone to Christ. Do all this so that when your day comes, you can look back...smile... and say I believe my life is about to change for the better!!! Christian, I miss you so much baby girl, but this is not goodbye. Dear cell,

I was having a chat with my friend in school yesterday and just happened to find out that her uncle has passed away about a month ago. He had cancer at the terminal stage and it couldn't be cured (by the doctors), so he went to take his own life. At that point I was thinking that if it was an early stage cancer, i would have told her that i believe God can heal and maybe if she told me, i could have prayed for her uncle. But in the end, i didn't mention to her abt the praying part, becoz she told me that it was terminal stage. And i sort of doubted God's healing power for a moment. But when i was on my way home, this sentence just flashed in my mind, 'Don't limit God'. We always hear people saying that God can do wonders, and we read many stories on God's healing power in the bible, but do we really believe it?.. i mean if sthg were to happen to ur close friend or relative, will we still be able to stand firm and trust God in his healing power?
I was quite disappointed with myself because i 'shook'(doubted) for that short while, but i'm going to believe it now, believe that God is the Healer, the one and only MIRACLE HEALER. What about u?

the toughest race!

hey cell! i hope that God has spoken to you during the service just now :) here's a short summary of the sermon by ps aaron (for the benefit of those who couldn't join us! you all are not forgotten) but forgive me if i miss out some points! haha. i cannot memorise the whole sermon.

Hebrews 12 :1-2
1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

1. Motivation to run the race

In chapter 11 of Hebrews, it talks about the people of God who have run the race. They have kept their faith in God even though it was not easy. We have a great cloud of witnesses to cheer us on in this race. Do not give up!

2. Preparation for the race

Weights that hinder us from running the race
-fears for the future
-shadows of past
-comfort of the present life
-preferences
-wordly passion
-jealousy, envy, hatred
-excessive affection

The sin that entangles ...
-sin of unbelief

Hebrews 3:12
See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.

3. Concentration during the race

-Connect yourself to the vine (Jesus)
-Jesus is the source of strength, life and grace

Let's continue to run this race as a cell, it is not easy and will never be. but i believe that God is my refuge and strong tower and will be yours. Fix our eyes on Jesus. Let's continue to encourage one another and connect to God daily!

Giving Up Too Soon?

A man met a guru on the road. The man asked the guru, "Which way is success?"
The berobed, bearded sage did not speak but pointed to a place off in the distance.

The man, thrilled by the prospect of quick and easy success, rushed off in the appropriate direction. Suddenly, there came a loud "Splat!!!". The man limped back, tattered and stunned, assuming he must have misinterpreted the message.

Dear cell,
I know that this is a long entry which may just make u feel not like reading it, but i really hope that everyone of you can spend some time reading this few passages that i've taken out of the book 'purpose driven life'. Read and digest it slowly. If u can't, then just read those black words right at the bottom.

"Love is not a good part of your life, it's the most important part.' The bible says, "Let love be your greatest aim."

Often we act as if relationship are something to be squeezed into our schedule. We talk abt finding time for our children or making time for pple in out lives. That gives the impression that relationships are just part of our lives along with many other tasks. But God says relationships are what life is all abt.

4 of the Ten Commandments deal w our relationship with God while the other 6 deal with our relationship with pple. Jesus summarized what matters most to God in 2 statements: Love God and love pple.

I have been at the bedside of many pple in their final moments, when they stand on the edge of eternity, and I have nv heard anyone say,"Bring me my diplomas! I want to look at them one more time. Show me my awards, my medals, that gold watch i was given." When life on earth is ending, pple don't surround themselves with objects. What we want ard us is pple- Pple we love and have relationships with. Don't wait until you're on your deathbed to figure out that nothing matters more than relationships.

Relationships, not achievements or the aquisition of things are what matters most in life.
When our schedules become overloaded, we start skimming relationally, cutting back on giving the time, energy and attention tt loving ralationship require. What matters most to God is replaced by what's urgent.

Busyness is the great enemy of relationships. We become preoccupied with making a living, doing our work, paying bills, and accomplishing goals as if these tasks are the point of life. They are not. The point of life is learning to love - God and pple.

Many pple have said to me,"I don't understand my wife and kids. I provide everything they need. What more could they want?" They want you! Your eyes, your ears, your time, your attention, your presence, your focus - your time. Nothing can take the place of that.

In heaven God won't say, "Tell me abt ur career, your bank account, and your hobbies." Instead he wil review how u treated other pple, particularly those in need.

The greatest gift u can give to someone is your time.

The best use of life is love.
The best expression of love is time.
The best time to love is now.

Pray this: " God, whether i get anything else done today, I want to make sure that i spend time loving you and loving other pple -because tt's what life is all abt. I don't want to waste this day." Why sld God give you another day if you're gg to waste it?"

hey all chris here.and this is my 1st post on the CG blog.

Sometimes i wonder what is the right thing to do but before i saY,HAPPY NIU YEAR TO EVERYONE.wishing you all a prosperous niu year.now,being a sever in Holy Family for 7 years,i sort of got "banned" for not serving.ok this is my fault.now i'm staring to think whether i should join back or not. one of my friends,who is also going to "retire" from serving,gave me this quote :

It doesn't matter how long you've served you can't decide to stay on or not because of that. Just do what you think is right. There always other ministries you can join. It's abt the giving that's impt. You're doing a service and a duty to Church. Not for personal gain just rmb that.

okay.i was in shocked when i saw what he typed out.reaction: stunned !!!!!! now at least my mind is settled.at least it won't be so hazy.got to really think about it more often.hopefully,the decision i make is not for personal gain but for myself. well,i'm gonna nap now.tata^_^ and once again,wishing all my CG mates,classmates,family and friends a happy and prosperous NIU year ^^

P.s: if anyone has help on what i should do,please give me your guidance.i'll do my best to do what's right for myself and hope GOD will not get angry of my actions.

Honoring our elders is something that God wants us to cultivate. It is part of learning to practice the Lordship of God.

1.Respecting our parents “Every one of you shall revere his mother and his father,…I am the Lord your God” Leviticus 19:3 The Lord commanded all men to respect and honor their parents. They were meant to give the proper reverence and regard that were due to parents.. Let’s make the effort to honor and show respect to our parents.

2. Respecting the older generation “You shall rise before the gray headed and honor the presence of an old man, and fear your God: I am the Lord.” Leviticus 19:32 God also told Moses that the people should give honor to the older generation. Whenever they see a gray headed person, they should rise from their chair to greet him. They should give proper respect to an old man. Furthermore, how we respect older ones would also affect our regard for the Lord. When we give honor to older ones, it would enhance our fear of the Lord. Many young people today do not know how to show honor to the older generation. Let’s seek to be different. Let’s practice the Lordship of God by respecting our elders.

Morning everybody!
I was so tired yesterday( wed), knock out straight after i came back home at 10p.m. So i have to wake up earlier today to gather some info for my proj, so i can 'jiao dai' to my grp mates..haha

I was reading the book on 'Intercessory prayer' yesterday while on the train and this time i didn't fall asleep while reading..It goes like this:

That God is not directly in control of everything that takes place on Earth can be seen in the simple facts:

-He would nv decide a person sld be raped or abused
-He would nv desire that the innocent suffer
-He would nv will murder, pillage, racial genocide, and a thousand other things.

Most of us don't like that. It threatens us and somehow weakens God in our mind to imply He's not in total control of everythiing.

Friends,
God's power is waiting to be released through our prayers!
- Our prayers can do wonders!
- Our prayers can change the situation! Definitely!!
BUT, only if we start praying.

'-Is it possible that some who have fallen away from Christ would not have if someone had interceded for them?

-Is it possible that much successful persecution against the church could be stopped or rendered unfruitful if we were alert and interceded against it?'

his rewards are the best

hi friends,

just want to share with you an interesting experience i encountered in the midst of my office shift. i have 2 bosses above me, one is my direct manager, the other one is the head of my agency. during the office shift, i realised the agency head who is a catholic, wanted to shift a small scupture on his table, the shape of a lion, those they normally place near the doors, to the new office. i was quite shocked when he requested for red paper to blindfold the lion's eyes for some fengshui reasons.. all these while, he also requested for radio to be on at all times in the office, for unknown reasons which i didn't bother to ask.

during the shift itself, my direct manager asked if whether he could get his fengshui shi to take a look for in the office for me and my teammate, my teammate who also happens to be a christian said ok and i thought since the process didnt have to involve me, im ok with it. i was chatting with my christian teammate and she mentioned that the agency head had many significant changes after he supposedly, made some fengshui adjustments.

i kept pondering after that and wonder how i would react in different senarios, for eg. if my direct manager comes to me and tell me which seat i should take. etc
when i was doing my devotion, i decided to read Acts because i thought Alvin would also be reading near Acts and God spoke to me through this verse:

Acts 1:18
18(With the reward he got for his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out. 19Everyone in Jerusalem heard about this, so they called that field in their language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.)
20"For," said Peter, "it is written in the book of Psalms, " 'May his place be deserted; let there be no one to dwell in it,'[d] and, " 'May another take his place of leadership.'[e]

many times, we find ourselves in a senario when we turn to the world for rewards and it does reward us.. But does it trully satisfy us? No.. it does not, in fact sometimes in the midst of chasing after our "rewards" we lose too many things altogether.

He's our provider! and as peici reminds us.
He's our Fortress and refuge, our God whom i trust.
We only enjoy the rewards that come from Him best.

May His word always be our guide and truth the days of our life.

to start the ball rolling after a long time,

was thinking about how long it has been, that our cell has been together, remember it was near my 21st birthday, (goodness some 2 years ago!) and we have joseph , jinyu, peisi and all feels like yesterday. today we re so glad that jinyu's friends have been saved and are able to join us, jiayu and bonnie, brendon and hafiz? haha.. not sure whether i got his name rite.. and it really dawned on me today how precious each and everyone of ur friendship is valuable to me. and i believe it is to u as well (haha :P), u have been doing ur best in every way to strengthen one another, to encourage one another and i hope we ll alwasy continue doing that. to the best of our ability. christian peers are so important in the journey of our christian walk.
i just want to let u know that i appreciate the time that you carried me when i was down, held me in prayer when i was weak and accepted my weaknesses even though you did not have to.

2. I want to have a fresh revelation from him and communicate it to people around me
3. I want to provide for ppl around me (my loved ones, "hers" ? haha
4. I want to protect those around me
5. I want to have ownership over the responsibilities that i currently have, and be able to lead ppl towards Him.

hello...
I've just chanced upon an ancient, yellowish book in one of my hse's cabinet.
Although it's only worth a mere $2.50, i think it's a really rich book...lol. So i'm going to share some of the things i've read in it.

The title is 'I AM A WOMAN', but i'll pick out stuff that all of us can learn..
So I'll be touching on prayer.

"Prayer simply acknowledges that we do depend on God...that there are some needs that we cannot meet alone, some demands we are unable to fulfill with our own wisdom or resources. That's what prayer says--we need God."

"Take time out to meditate on who God is. Pull out at least one thing you can thank Him for. (so everyone must give at least one testimony in cell the next time..lol)
Even if you think there's absolutely nothing good in your life or circumstances, praise Him for salvation, for sins forgiven, for peace of mind, for the hope of heaven where there's no more pain, sorrow or death."

Some points that I've took down:
- We will receive when we ask according to God's will.
- We ask and probably have not received because we ask selfishly and to gratify our wants
- Pray in the attitude of 'Your will be done'
- Prayer is also listening to God who reveals His will.
- Ask specifically
- Pray and look to God in times of temptation and victory
- Speak frequently to God in our own ways about our joy and sorrow, success and failure, and we'll develop great wisdom and understanding
- Prayer changes things
- By prayer we can reach the heart of God
- Finally, give thanks to God for every answered prayer.

Hey cell,

It has been a long time since I've blogged.. I'm still a blog-idiot.. hahax.. Anyway, I would like to share what I have learnt from my devotion yesterday.. Before I begin my sharing, I want to come clean before God & my brothers-&-sisters-in-Christ, that I've not been doing my devotion for a long time as I'm not doing well..Experiencing spiritual 'dryness, I was 'stagnant' in my walk with God and I was on the verge of giving up everything..

But once again, God is still so gracious towards me; He picked me up again... The topic of my devotion was on "Seeds of Righteousness".

“Within each one of us is the seed for righteous living. God plants that seed within us and provides rich soil in which it can grow.But it is up to us to tend this seed and the growth that results. Take this time now to give attention to the good gift which is growing in you.

Isaiah 55:10-11 "For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there until they have watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and succeed in the thing for which I sent it."”

God reminded me of what He spoke to me someday in February, when I was still deciding to be a Spiritual Multiplier in my CCA, Campus Crusade for Christ. He said “I will not plant a seed that will never grow.” That was the exact words/sentence that struck me again yesterday. The reason why things aren’t going smoothly and wasn’t doing well was that I was being too complacent and self-reliant. Many a time, I failed to accomplish the tasks given by God, failed His people and even my tests, I wanted to give up easily and do nothing, shirk my responsibilities and resign to my workload. Gently, God rebuked me that until I’ve accomplished the tasks that He has given me, I will not be able to return to Him nor succeed in life. Once a seed has grown, it can never return to its original state again. Like the verse above says, “do not return.. until they have watered the earth,… giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and succeed in the thing for which I sent it. ” God wants us to cling on to His promise; He wants us to be faithful to tend His ‘seeds’ (God-given tasks) and make sure they ‘grow’.

Apostle Paul’s saying – ‘He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.’

Alright, I’m so sorry to have your eyes strained.. Heeheex.. I’ll leave you with my favorite cliché “You ought to experience rain, before the sun outshines a rainbow.” Remember that the joy of our Lord is our strength! May our cell be God-orchestrated, AMEN! oh ya, if you want to grow, DRINK EnFaGrOw! grow,gRoW,GROW! heeheex...

Hey all, gonna put up my devotion or rather diary for today. =)

This is a prayer I've made for myself and the cell...

Dear God,
May you grant us wisdom in our everyday life. Let our decisions always be based on 'What would Jesus do?'. Let us make an effort to think carefully before we speak, for many a times we may have hurt others unknowingly.

Lord, I pray that we will be able to learn from you, to be understanding and wise. At the same time, may this wisdom not cause us to be filled with pride, but always keep us humble and righteous.

Help us to think thoroughly and carefully so that we'll be able to make the best decisions. Grant us better analytical skills and guide us even in our studies.

Lord, I pray that we'll learn to speak words of encouragement for the benefit of ourselves and others. Help us to get rid of any envy within us and but instead let us treasure each of our unique character and abilities. Let us grow as a cell, always faithful, always encouraging and always there for one another. Even when sometimes things do no seem to go our way, let us be able to maintain a smile and optimism, for we'll remain undefeated and victorious with you by our side. What more could we ask for. Amen.

i did a search on my e sword that day on the phrase "Let Us"

There is so much synergy when we come together as one, like sticks tied as a bundle. Really thankful for every one of you :) Everytime i see all of you, im reminded i cannot be too busy for God and doing his work.

The Isralites had their own wall to topple before they could enter the promised land. The wall they faced surrounded Jericho, a fortified city with "walls up to the sky" (deut9:1) When the Isralites arrived, Jericho's residents had just completed the spring harvest, and the city wells were brimming with spring rain. Archaeological experts estimate that the inhabitants probably could have held out for several years. Defeating the city was one of history's most unlikely- and humanly impossible- victories. Yet the people of God accomplished it-not with trumpets and shouting, but with obedience to God's directives.

Perhaps you find yourself staring up at an insurmountable wall that God is calling you to conquer-a wall that seems as frightening as it is large. Maybe your wall is a task that seems impossible, a goal too incredible to imagine or a repeating pattern of sin you haven't been able to overome on your own.

Many things in life look like Jericho's wall- obstacles that stand in the way of what God wants us to accomplish for him. But when we claim God's promises and move forward with faith, we topple our walls and walk victoriously over the rubble.
